Read MoreThe folks behind Evo unveiled the lineup for this summer’s installment yesterday, and it includes a couple of surprises.
Returning from last year are Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Tekken 7, Dragon Ball FighterZ, Street Fighter 5, Samurai Showdown, Soulcalibur VI, and UNDER NIGHT IN-BIRTH Exe:Late. Mortal Kombat 11, which made its Evo debut last year, will not be coming back for round two.
Granblue Fantasy Versus, which releases on March 3 in North America, will appear at Evo. The fighting game is based on the 2014 JRPG game Granblue Fantasy.
Evo also revealed the return of Marvel vs Capcom 2 with a special 8-person tournament. This special 20urnament of Champions invitational celebrates the 20th anniversary of the popular fighting game. The last time the game was featured at the fighting game tournament was in 2010.
Evo takes place at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas from July 31 through August 2. Competitors and spectators can register for the event here.

SNK’s Terry Bogard is the newest DLC character to arrive in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The reveal was made at today’s Nintendo Direct. Bogard is slated to be released sometime in November.
Bogard will be joining Persona 5’s Joker, The Hero from Dragon Quest XI, and Banjo and Kazooie as DLC characters this year. The aforementioned Banjo and Kazooie are available for purchase today. More DLC characters will be arriving in the near future.
