Photos: Summer X Games 2023 delivered big time in Ventura
This past weekend, the summer X Games had their first in-person event since 2019, and a slew of people made their way to Southern California for some extreme sports action.
The last time the X Games was in California for a public event was back in 2013, which found them packing the Crypto.com Arena and L.A. Live in Los Angeles. For this year's installment, they took over the Ventura County Fairgrounds in Ventura. As expected, a massive number of extreme sports fans made it their duty to check out their favorite athletes duke it out for the top spot in their respective sport.
This year's installment featured the summer X Games return of longtime host Selema Masekela, who was joined alongside skateboarding legend Tony Hawk and radio personality/former skateboarder Jason Ellis. While Hawk enjoyed talking about the action during the event, the legend found themselves part of it by being a surprise entry in the Skateboard Vert Best Trick competition.
From BMX rider Ryan Williams stunning everyone with a front flip front bikeflip to 13-year-old Arisa Trew being the first female to land a 720 in a skateboard competition, this year's summer X Games has been filled with unforgettable moments for endless highlight reels.
Aside from the action, attendees were able to showcase their own skills on various mini-courses as well as check out some artwork from Punk Rock & Paintbrushes.
