This weekend (April 23 & April 24), Sacred Heart University will unveil the second annual Connecticut eSports Showcase.
This showcase will bring some of the best collegiate esports programs from Sacred Heart University, University of Connecticut, Fairfield University, Southern Connecticut State University, and University of Hartford together to see who’s number one in Overwatch, Super Smash Bros Ultimate, and Rocket League. Saturday will feature robin-round tournaments while Sunday will feature the main tournament.
The action can be viewed over on Connecticut eSports Showcase’s Twitch channel.
Sacred Heart University walked away as the winner of last year’s showcase. Ray Mencio, director of SHU’s club sports said this about the inaugural competition:
“The increased exposure for esports at SHU means a lot to both the academic program and our club esports team. The esports team has been successful since we started the program. This is another great moment in being the leader of collegiate esports in the Northeast.”
