Russo Brothers to work on Magic The Gathering anime series
Since its inception back in 1993, Magic The Gathering has become the biggest trading card game in the country. Now, the popular franchise is headed to the small screen with the help of the Russo Brothers.
Revealed today, Netflix announced an anime series based on the game. The Russo Brothers will be the series’ executive producers. “We have been huge fans and players of Magic: The Gathering for as long as it has been around, so being able to help bring these stories to life through animation is a true passion project for us,” the brothers said in a joint statement.
Writers Henry Gilroy (Wars: The Clone Wars) and Jose Molina (The Tick, The Vampire Diaries) will be the official showrunners. Spider-Man: Into The Spider-verse story artist Yoriaki Mochizuki will serve as both supervising director and co-executive producer.
