WWE 2K Battlegrounds arriving this fall

A new WWE video game will enter the squared circle this fall.

Announced today, WWE 2K Battlegrounds will include some of your favorite wrestlers in an arcade style brawler. In the trailer, which you can see below, the gameplay is reminiscent of 2011’s WWE All Stars. “Whether you’re a casual gamer just learning the ropes or a passionate fan ready for all the action, WWE 2K Battlegrounds provides another way to enjoy WWE video game action. The game is being developed by Saber Interactive, the studio behind NBA 2K Playgrounds, who have been hard at work on WWE 2K Battlegrounds and are excited to let you smell what they’re cookin,” the 2K team said in a statement.

They also revealed they wont release a WWE 2K game in 2020 in order to make things better following WWE 2K19’s issues. Servers for WWE 2K19 will be running a while longer until the next WWE 2K chapter arrives in 2021.

WrestleMania 36 to become a two-night event

For the first time ever, WrestleMania will be split into two nights.

The WWE made the announcement today via social media. “WWE WrestleMania 36 is now set for a historic two-night presentation on WWE Network with former New England Patriots' Rob Gronkowski -Gronk hosting The Show of Shows at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT on Saturday, April 4, and Sunday, April 5,” they said in a statement.

This follows their major decision to move WrestleMania 36 to the Performance Center. The event was originally schedule to take part at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, but the coronavirus forced them to change plans.

For the past few years, many fans have wanted WrestleMania to be split into two nights. With the event finding itself ending later each time, fans wanted the competitors to have more ring time. This year, they’ll get their chance.

The card for WrestleMania 36 includes Royal Rumble winner Drew McIntyre facing off against Brock Lesnar for the Brock Lesnar. Other championship matches taking place are Rhea Ripley vs. Charlotte Flair for the NXT Women’s Championship, Becky Lynch vs. Shayna Baszler for the Raw Women’s Championship, and Goldberg vs. Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship. Other matches taking place are Kevin Owens vs. Seth Rollins, John Cena vs. "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt, and The Undertaker vs. AJ Styles.

WrestleMania 36 will air live on the WWE Network. New subscribers can get their first month of the WWE Network for free.

Bowling For Soup pays homage to WWE's Alexa Bliss with new single "Alexa Bliss"

Anyone who follows WWE superstar Alexa Bliss on social media knows about her love for pop punk group Bowling For Soup. Today, the band unveiled a song dedicated to the professional wrestler. “With a main riff that’s perhaps the heaviest in the history of Bowling For Soup, combined with frenetic verses, a chorus bigger than their home state of Texas and more references to Alexa Bliss and WWE than an episode of Smackdown, this is a song that will thrill fans of BFS, WWE and beyond,” the band said in a statement.

The music video, which was directed by Jason Whitbeck, pays tribute to the 1980's movie Weird Science. After creating Bliss from their computer, two boys go on the adventure of a lifetime. Bliss stars in the video as herself. You can check it out below.

Bowling For Soup will kick off their U.K. tour with Simple Plan next week, and most of the trek is already sold out. The band’s last studio album was 2016’s Drunk Dynasty.
