After months of previewing new music, Poppy has dropped a surprise for fans.
At last night’s episode of NXT, the artist announced their new EP EAT (NXT Soundtrack), which is available on all digital platforms right now. Poppy has been a musical guest on NXT programming for over a year, so announcing the EP on the popular wrestling show was a no-brainer. The announcement can be seen below.
Paul Levesque, WWE Executive Vice President, Global Talent Strategy & Development said this about the announcement:
“NXT is all about individuality and building characters and Poppy has built her own brand in a similar fashion to become the world-renowned artist she is today. Releasing her new EP EAT – NXT SOUNDTRACK during NXT television adds another unique layer to our longstanding partnership.”
Sumerian Records CEO Ash Avildsen said this about the partnership:
“Not since Cyndi Lauper and the birth of Wrestlemania have we seen an iconic female rock star and pro wrestling collide in such a culturally fascinating way. This is a historical moment for Sumerian, an inspiring story for the new generation of WWE fans and a glimpse into the future of what’s to come from the brilliant mind and vision of Poppy.”
Since 2009, MP3s and NPCs owner Terrance Pryor has written about music, conventions, cosplay, and video games for publications such as AXS, Examiner, Fake Walls, and Ranker.
