Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion coming to modern consoles and PC in November
The third title in the classic Turok trilogy is finally coming to modern consoles and PC.
Revealed today at Gamescom, a remaster of Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion is slated to arrive on November 14 via the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Nightdive Studios, who remastered the first two Turok games, will do the same for this title. The remaster will feature visual improvements, console-specific controls (motion/gyro controls for Nintendo Switch), and achievements for Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation,
Larry Kuperman, Director of Business Development at Nightdive Studios said this about the forthcoming remaster:
“The Turok series is one of the classic touchstones of gaming and being able to provide the newest and improved version of Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion is a great feeling. It makes full use of the latest version of our KEX engine, and we’re excited to share the game with players later this year.”
Originally released on the Nintendo 64 back in 2000, Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion saw positive reviews about its gameplay and conclusion of the trilogy.
A synopsis for the game reads:
In Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion, players choose between dual protagonists Joseph and Danielle Fireseed, siblings of Turok 2: Seeds of Evil protagonist Joshua Fireseed. Together, they must defeat the titular antagonist Oblivion and its followers, the Flesh Eaters, after the supposed demise of their brother at its hands.
Nightdive Studios is currently holding a sale for Turok, Turok 2, and other previously released titles on the PS Store until the end of August.
