February is over, but the month didn’t leave us empty-handed when it comes to new music. Whether it’s from a veteran in the scene or a newcomer, having something new to throw on a playlist is always a good thing. In no particular order, these are five songs that made February much better.

NewDad - "Slowly"

NewDad graced fans with "Slowly," which is a celestial slice of '90s alternative rock fervor. The track comes from the band's debut EP Waves, which arrives on March 26 via Fair Youth Records. Pre-orders for the EP can be made here.

Peach PRC - "Josh"

Everyone has had that annoying ex who simply can't take the hint. Popular TikTokker Peach PRC used a recent run-in with their ex as inspiration for their new single "Josh." It's safe to say Josh won't be bothering them anymore after hearing this pop banger.

Gojira - "Born For One Thing"

Fans have been waiting patiently for Gojira's follow-up to their Grammy-nominated album Magma. "Born For One Thing," which is the first single from the band's forthcoming album Fortitude, is a battle cry to disregard meaningless possessions and enjoy the time you have on Earth. Ludovico Technique - "Embrace"

Industrial outfit Ludovico Technique have been filling alternative clubs with jams such as "Abscene" and "Potential." With the help of Grammy-nominated mastering engineer Stuart Hawkes (Amy Winehouse, Ed Sheeran), "Embrace" shines as another cut that'll be in many DJs' setlists in the following months.

AFI - "Looking Tragic"

In a statement, AFI vocalist Davey Havok said "Looking Tragic" is a track to "make bodies, if not sentiments, move." The near three-minute number has enough swagger to make even the most jaded people in the back unknowingly tap their feet. "Looking Tragic" stems from AFI's upcoming studio album Bodies, which arrives on June 11. Pre-orders for the album can be made here.
