The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition can be yours for $70 (or $80) on the Nintendo Switch
Bethesda dropped a surprise for Skyrim fans on the Nintendo Switch, but it’s not making anyone happy.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition was released this week on the console for a staggering $70. In comparison, the title is available for $60 on PC with the base game (Special Edition) at $40 and the Anniversary Edition upgrade at $20. On the Nintendo Switch, however, the base game is $60 with a $20 upgrade for the Anniversary Edition making it $80 overall. This means those who avoided buying the title on the Switch can get the Anniversary Edition for $10 less than those who purchased the game when it dropped.
The Anniversary Edition of Skyrim comes equipped with 500 Creation Club elements to further enrich the Skyrim experience.
A synopsis for Skyrim reads:
The Empire of Tamriel is on the edge. The High King of Skyrim has been murdered. Alliances form as claims to the throne are made. In the midst of this conflict, a far more dangerous, ancient evil is awakened. Dragons, long lost to the passages of the Elder Scrolls, have returned to Tamriel. The future of Skyrim, even the Empire itself, hangs in the balance as they wait for the prophesized Dragonborn to come; a hero born with the power of The Voice, and the only one who can stand amongst the dragons.
Elder Scrolls VI is currently in pre-production. Unfortunately for Nintendo Switch owners, the game will be released exclusively on the Xbox and PC.
