This past weekend, the Pacific Media Expo made its big in-person return in Los Angeles following a three-year absence.

Taking place at the Sheraton Los Angeles San Gabriel, the 2022 installment of Pacific Media Expo felt like a reunion of sorts with people running into friends they haven't seen in a while. Founded by Anime Expo founder Mike Tatsugawa in 2003, Pacific Media Expo offers a much more scaled down version of their previous convention. Despite its small demeanor, the feeling inside Pacific Media Expo made one feel as if they're at one of the biggest shows in the country. Photographers and cosplayers were exhilarated when it came to planning their upcoming photoshoots while shoppers gleefully walked through the vendor’s hall for their next purchase.

The highlight of the event was the fashion show, which was elegantly co-hosted by anime industry professional Shelby Tozier and fashion show coordinator Laarnie Barcelon. 11 brands showcased their designs to a packed room of flashing cameras and mesmerized eyes. Our photos from the event, which included a wondrous performance from Dreamland Maid Café, can be found here.

For those into music and dancing, Pacific Media Expo served up some fantastic acts for their three-day event. Japanese hard rock band Kahza, who temporarily called Los Angeles their home years ago, served up two explosive sets, which included a cover of Metallica's "Enter Sandman." When it came to dancing, Animotics, who held their second performance ever at the convention, and Mews Dance served up some electric dance moves before the closing ceremonies.
