Photos: Pacific Media Expo 2022 Fashion Show delivered a grand experience
Pacific Media Expo made its big return this weekend at the Sheraton Los Angeles San Gabriel in Los Angeles, which meant the return of its beloved fashion show.
Taking place yesterday, a packed Grand Ballroom was on hand to witness a slew of Los Angeles' rising fashion brands show off their electric lines. Co-hosted by anime industry professional Shelby Tozier and fashion show coordinator Laarnie Barcelon, the fashion show jumped into gear with Baroque-inspired fashion line Ronova, Gothic/Japanese hybrid brand Hellz Belles Co., decora-influenced brand Decora Demon, BTS-inspired brand Forever Seesaw, and Japanese pop culture-inspired line Toshikigirl. Tozier and Barcelon hopped into model mode for select brands as well.
The fashion show moved ahead at a rapid pace, which meant halftime act Dreamland Maid Café needed a bit more time to arrive. Fortunately, Tozier kept the crowd entertained with a slew of rapid discussions about anime. With years of hosting under their belt, the charismatic personality was quick on their feet with connecting with the audience.
When Dreamland Maid Café jumped on the stage, the audience was automatically hooked by the unit's eye-catching maid outfits. The So Cal collective had to take over both the stage and the runway at times, which lead to a more in-your-face performance for people sitting on the side. Through song and dance, the Dreamland Maid Café won over a slew of new fans at the end.
The second half of the fashion show continued things with the anime-inspired M.RAGE ASTRAL SYSTEMS, pastel fashion brand My Violet, kimono brand Boro Boro, and plus-sized Hanbok brand Hoya. One highlight involved My Hamachi Designs, which found models walking down the runway with both stuffed and real dogs.
Closing things out with Lolita fashion brand Haenuli, the fashion show received a huge applause from the crowd, and 11 hard-working brands were able to show off the next new trends that will take over the streets. Following the event, a slew of individuals walked through the fashion boutique to get a closer look at what they saw.
