Hum release surprise album 'Inlet,' first album in 22 years

Alternative rock gurus Hum have unveiled their surprise album Inlet today.

The eight-track release was engineered by band members Matt Talbott and Tim Lash along with James Treichler (The Uglies, James Treichler). The album will be available on streaming services soon, but you can check it out (and purchase it) below. Inlet is also available on Polyvinyl Records’ webstore. The vinyl release has been delayed because of the corornavirus epidemic. The band are hoping to release the vinyl in late summer.

Inlet is Hum’s first studio album since 1998’s Downward Is Heavenward. Back in 2016, the band revealed they were working on the album’s long-awaited follow up.

Since 2009, MP3s and NPCs owner Terrance Pryor has written about music, conventions, cosplay, and video games for publications such as AXS, Examiner, Fake Walls, and Ranker. Based out of Los Angeles, the former rock concert promoter/radio host can be seen talking about rock music on AXS TV’s Music’s Greatest Mysteries and discussing music and whatever else on their Black Man Talks Rock channel on YouTube.
