Thousands of Dragon Ball fans packed Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall over the weekend for the return of the Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026.
Last year's installment was cancelled due to the wildfires, so when a return was announced, fans quickly grabbed free tickets to see the best Dragon Ball FighterZ players in the world. The crowd was so large that entry into the event was paused for a moment. When fans got inside, they were greeted by a plethora of photo ops, displays, and casual matches with fellow Dragon Ball enthusiasts. Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero players managed to test how good they are in the game with a special challenge. Players would have to use weak characters to defeat some of the game's toughest opponents. Those who walked away victorious gained a special prize.
Aside from the exciting tournament, fans were ready to hear some Dragon Ball video game news. The biggest announcement was a major update on the Age 1000 Project, which was revealed to be Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3. The follow-up to 2016's highly successful action RPG Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is slated for a 2027 release on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC (via Steam). A trailer for the game can be seen below. Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 can be wishlisted right now here.
While Xenoverse 3 is dropping next year, Xenoverse 2 will still get plenty of love this year. This summer, the final DLC for the game titled FUTURE SAGA: Chapter 4 will be unveiled. Xenoverse 2 will also have collaborations with Dragon Ball Z: Dokkan Battle, Dragon Ball: Gekishin Squadra, and Dragon Ball Legends. Collabs with Dokkan Battle and Legends begin this month while the Gekishin Squadra collaboration will take place at a later date.
