Aqua to re-release debut album 'Aquarium' this September
Aqua are celebrating the 25th anniversary of their debut album Aquarium in a special way.
Today, it was announced that the band will re-release the album on September 9 on vinyl. Pre-orders for the re-release can be made here.
Released in 1997, Aquarium launched the band into worldwide success with the single “Barbie Girl,” which topped the charts in 10 countries. The track led to some controversy with Mattel suing MCA Records for copyright infringement. The case was tossed out since the song was a parody and not a proper representation of the beloved doll. Aquarium would go on to sell 14 million copies worldwide.
The band will perform at a handful of festivals throughout Europe in the following weeks. Tour dates and tickets can be found here.
