New Jersey's Annie Blackman signs to Father/Daughter Records, releases new single "Why We Met"
New Jersey singer/songwriter Annie Blackman has signed to Father/Daughter Records.
Blackman will unveil a string of singles on the record label with their first one titled “Why We Met” being released today. The music video for the single, which you can see below, was directed by their brother William. In a statement, Annie said:
"William and I have been making all sorts of shorts together since high school. We had some time on our hands, homebound over the holidays, so we thought it’d be cool to do something a little more involved.”
William said this about working on the visual:
"We wanted to make a video that treated “Why We Met” like the score to a short film, rather than just a visual catering to a song. The ghost story we tell rides that line. While classic music video elements like singing to camera made their way into the project, thinking narrative first pushed us to try things we otherwise might have avoided.”
“Why We Met” is available on all digital services right now.
