Anime fans from around the world made their way to Anime Expo earlier this month to celebrate the convention's 35th anniversary.
With a turnstile attendance of over 422,000 fans, this year's Anime Expo was its biggest one to date. The four-day event featured a plethora of special premieres, including the first-ever look at Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2's first episode.
The show floor featured a plethora of exhibitors showcasing some of the best in gaming and anime. Toho International celebrated a handful of anime series with an immersive experience featuring photo ops, a randomizer, and artwork. On a special tour of the booth, Toho International, Inc. Sr. Marketing Manager Lauren Weil discussed how long it took to put all of this together. "Well, we started this process many, many months ago, honestly, at the end of last year. So we've been in Anime Expo Land for quite a long time for all the planning. But I think they've been building this many days now," Weil said.
Outside of showcasing beloved anime titles, the Toho International booth also showed love to new series Though I Am an Inept Villainess with a costume display. "We really wanted people to take away experiencing the anime before they even get to watch it, so we brought in costumes inspired by what the characters are wearing in the series, so the fans can really come in and experience the anime themselves," Weil said.
