A Samurai Pizza Cats video game has been announced

To celebrate its 35th anniversary, Samurai Pizza Cats will make its return to video games.

Revealed yesterday, a game based on the popular 90s anime series titled Samurai Pizza Cats: Blast from the Past! is currently in development at Blast Zero with publishing done by Red Dunes Games. The game, which is slated for a 2026 release on consoles and PC, will include the original English and Japanese voice casts from the anime. A new trailer featuring the English voice, which was supervised by Samurai Pizza Cats writer Satoru Akahori, cast can be seen here.

A synopsis for Samurai Pizza Cats: Blast from the Past! reads:

That’s right folks! After more then 30 years the Samurai Pizza Cats finally return! The Big Cheese has an evil Scheme up his sleeve and it’s up to you, the player to stop him from taking over Little Tokyo!

Instantly switch between your favorite cats and utilise each characters unique abilities for puzzle solving and creative combat variations! Crush your enemies with special attacks in classic 90s anime fashion!

Explore the adventurous overworld of Little Tokyo where you battle fierce enemies to level up your characters and obtain special cards which can be equipped to expand your combat abilities.

Samurai Pizza Cats: Blast from the Past! can be wishlisted on Steam and the Epic Games Store right now. The Samurai Pizza Cats anime is currently available on Pluto TV, Peacock, and Amazon Video.
