Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Champions servers to go offline in January 2022

After nearly three years since its release, Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Champions will be shutting down its servers next year.

the servers will be closed on January 31. Players can still access the card store, but the gem shop will be unavailable. An official statement from the game reads:

“Hello Champions,

We have taken the decision to close the Warhammer Champions servers. Servers will be closed on 31st January 2022. Until that time, the gem shop will be unavailable but the card store remains open to use to enjoy the last few weeks on Warhammer Champions.

We would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all your support and we wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

All the best,

Warhammer Champions”

Released in 2019, Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Champions focused on the Age of Sigmar lore, which was implemented in 2015. The game was released on mobile phones, the Nintendo Switch, and PC.

While Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Champions will permanently shut down, there’s a handful of games set to arrive to cure that Warhammer itch. Weeks after its closure, turn-based strategy title Total War: Warhammer III will arrive on PC on February 17. Blood Bowl 3 is also slated to drop in February on Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S.

Xbox Series X/S and Microsoft Windows will gain the exclusive first-person action title Warhammer 40,000: Darktide in 2022. Another exclusive coming to Windows is Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters, which is a reboot of the 1998 game Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate. Hack-n-slack title Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II will arrive later in the new year on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
