U.K. post-punk band Do Nothing unveil new single "Moving Target"
U.K. post-punk band Do Nothing released their new single “Moving Target” yesterday.
The accompanying music video, which can be seen below, was shot by vocalist Chris Bailey, who said this about the track and visual:
“I’d say that this one distills some of the album’s more gloomy themes into a nice little song about being tired and run down. It’s also sort of about feeling small in a big world, and wondering how you could possibly relate to it. For the video, I thought it'd be fun to strap a GoPro to myself for a month and see whether the footage could be made into something. I felt weird walking around with it, but I actually quite like watching it back now as a little time capsule thing. During the editing I definitely noticed that smiley positive moments actually made for the best footage, which made me feel nice and uncynical.”
"Moving Target" comes from Do Nothing’s debut album Snake Sideways, which will be released on June 30. Pre-orders for the album can be made here.
Fans can still play the band’s web game based on their previous single “Amoeba” here. To play the game, which features an 8-bit version of “Amoeba,” you’ll have to pre-save/pre-add the Snake Sideways album on Spotify and Apple Music. The top three winners on the leaderboard by June 29 will earn prizes, including a pair of tickets to one of the band’s upcoming shows.
European fans will have several chances to catch the band live in the following months. Tour dates and tickets can be found here.
