Award-winning TTRPG Vaesen - Nordic Horror Roleplaying is currently available for free for a limited time.

Revealed today, Free League Publishing is offering the TTRPG for free until the end of Halloween. The game can be picked up here.

A synopsis for the game reads:

In dark forests, beyond the mountains, by black lakes in hidden groves. At your doorstep. In the shadows, something stirs. Strange beings. Twisted creatures, lurking at the edge of vision. Watching. Waiting. Unseen by most, but not by you. You see them for what they really are. Vaesen.

Vaesen – Nordic Horror Roleplaying is written by Nils Hintze, based on the work of Swedish illustrator and author Johan Egerkrans. The game presents a dark Gothic setting steeped in Nordic folklore and old myths of Scandinavia. The game mechanics use an adapted version of the award-winning Year Zero Engine.

At the 2021 ENNIE Awards, Vaesen - Nordic Horror Roleplaying earned three Gold ENnies for Best Art – Cover, Best Art – Interior, and Best Monster / Adversary. This year, Vaesen RPG – Seasons of Mystery won a Gold ENnie for Best Adventure while Vaesen RPG – Mythic Britain & Ireland gained three Gold ENnies for Product of the Year, Best Art – Interior, and Best Setting.
