The Roots, Burna Boy to perform at Afropunk Brooklyn 2022

Afropunk Brooklyn will make its grand return this fall.
Announced yesterday, the two-day festival will go down on September 10 and September 11 at Commodore Barry Park. Headlining the event are hip-hop band The Roots, whose last studio album was 2014’s ...And Then You Shoot Your Cousin, and Afrobeats artist Burna Boy, who will unveil their new studio album Love, Damini on July 2. Other acts slated to perform include Earl Sweatshirt, Freddie Gibbs, Adekunle Gold, and Mick Jenkins. A full list of acts can be seen here.
Pre-sale tickets will go live this Thursday (June 16). Pre-sale registration can be made by texting “AFROPUNK” to (718) 550-6268 to gain a special code.
Founded in 2005, the Afropunk Festival has featured performances from acts such as Living Color, Radkey, and Janelle Monae.
