The Minus 5 team up with Debbi Peterson and Patterson Hood for “Blow in My Bag”
Indie rock group The Minus 5 have delivered another offering from their forthcoming studio album Oar On, Penelope! today.
The new single “Blow in My Bag” features guest vocals from Debbi Peterson of The Bangles and Patterson Hood of Drive-By Truckers. An accompanying music video for the song, which can be seen here, features cameo appearances from Peterson and Hood as well as Kurt Bloch, Peter Buck, Linda Pitmon, Spencer Tweedy, and current and former artists from Yep Roc Records.
Vocalist Scott McCaughey, who directed the music video, said this about the song:
"I had an idea to do a Nancy Sinatra / Lee Hazlewood duet between me and Debbi, but of course, I only mention that because I typically don’t manage to get close enough to elicit comparisons. That being said, I’m not sure what the song is about, but Patterson’s vocals at the end convince me that he knows!”
Oar On, Penelope! is set for a May 30 release on Yep Roc Records. Pre-orders for the album can be made here.
