The Legend of Zelda movie arrives in March 2027
The highly anticipated live-action Legend of Zelda film has an official release date.
Revealed yesterday, the film is slated to arrive on March 26, 2027. Announced back in 2023, the film will be directed by Wes Ball, who is best known for directing the Maze Runner film trilogy. The film will be co-produced by Shigeru Miyamoto and Avi Arad through Nintendo and Arad Productions Inc. respectively. Miyamoto originally said this on social media about the film:
“I have been working on the live-action film of The Legend of Zelda for many years now with Avi Arad-san, who has produced many mega hit films.
I have asked Avi-san to produce this film with me, and we have now officially started the development of the film with Nintendo itself heavily involved in the production. It will take time until its completion, but I hope you look forward to seeing it.”
The release of The Legend of Zelda film comes one week after the release of Sonic The Hedgehog 4, which is slated to hit theaters on March 19, 2027. The Legend of Zelda film also arrives on the same weekend as the sequel to Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.
