The Evo Awards announced, debuting in Los Angeles in 2025
Longtime esports event Evo will hold its own awards show next year.
Announced yesterday, The Evo Awards is slated to debut in Los Angeles in February 2025. The ceremony is done via a partnership between Evo and Qiddiya. Fans will be able to vote for their favorite players in various categories. More information about the event will be released soon. An announcement trailer can be seen here.
A statement from Evo about The Evo Awards reads:
Qiddiya and Evo will be entering into a unique partnership allowing for a first of its kind event to celebrate the incredible people who have played their role in upleveling the Fighting Game Community throughout the years. The Evo Awards, Powered by Qiddiya, is set to debut in Los Angeles, February 2025.
The evening broadcast show, uniquely built for fans, will feature a full suite of live audience programming to commemorate and celebrate the feats of the fighting game community’s many prestigious members, formally inducting them into halls of fame. Most importantly, the voting and honors are decided entirely by you, the FGC. Stay tuned as public voting becomes available to honor your favorite community members.
Throughout 2024 together with Evo, Qiddiya have brought high quality content programming designed for fans in the form of meet & greets, Beat-a-Pro challenges, exhibition matches and Sunday Top 6 watch parties. Legendary FGC players and talent who have participated include the likes of JWong, MenaRD, Daigo Umehara, Arslan Ash, TempestNYC and Slash.
