Twitch saw its numbers explode with 13 million people joining the streaming platform last year. With a slew of new streamers, more unforgettable moments arrive. These are some of the best things we saw on the channel during the past 12 months.

Like many channels, Hyper RPG took a hit through the coronavirus. Thankfully, their community managed to keep them afloat while they changed up their programming with the inclusion of shows such as Game Masters’ Gauntlet and 2nd Draft. In October, Hyper RPG embarked on a massive road trip across the country to learn how people were handling the current situation.

When the coronavirus shut down improv theaters in Los Angeles, a group of improvisers got together to deliver one of Twitch's most artistic channels. Outpost 13 delivers a wide variety of programming weekly whether it's two-person improv (The Madi Goff Show) or teaching people how to code (Coding Koans).

What happens when a group of streamers and internet personalities gets together to play D&D and video games together? You get one of the best new communities around with Pixel Circus. Featuring familiar faces such as Saige Ryan (Damsels, Dice, and Everything Nice, Geek and Sundry) and Anthony Carboni (The Star Wars Show), the Twitch channel has found a grand audience with shows such as Failed Save and It’s Too Early.
Best Improv Shows
Made Up Music - Outpost 13
Arlo Sanders and Alex Caan merge their improv and music skills with Made Up Music. Each week, the duo creates a new song based on the suggestion of the Twitch chat, and the results have been nothing short of marvelous. You can listen to previously released songs here.
Horror Unscripted - Impro TV
For Halloween, Impro TV brought some chills of their own with Horror Unscripted. Each week, a new horror story was unveiled with a different cast of improvisers. As expected, viewers were hooked at every single turn.
The Improvised Generation - Outpost 13
While the coronavirus halted The Improvised Generation's live shows in Los Angeles, the beloved improv show found a new home on Twitch. The Star Trek-inspired show follows the adventures of the USS McGinley crew. Featuring a massive cast, including the likes of Aliza Pearl (Geek and Sundry), Hector Navarro (DC Universe), and Paul Hungerford, the show is a must-watch for all sci-fi fans. Best Twitch Events
GlitchCon
With TwitchCon being canceled, Twitch decided to continue things with GlitchCon. The one-day virtual event brought together a slew of entertainment ranging from the Kenny Beats Battle Extravaganza to various video game tournaments. Drawing an audience of almost seven million people between four channels, GlitchCon was a huge success.
Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 - Twitch Rivals
Maximilian Dood gave Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 some love with a special Twitch Rivals tournament. 32 contestants duked it out for the grand prize, but when it was all said and done, RyanLV walked away as the winner. With its 10th anniversary arriving this year, the tournament showed that Mahvel’s here to stay.
Borat Meets DrLupo
DrLupo's encounter with Borat will go down as one of the wildest confrontations in years. While the two were scheduled to play a game, things rapidly went off the rails with a slew of eyebrow-raising moments from the self-proclaimed "King in the Castle." Even DrLupo couldn't believe what was transpiring in front of them and tens of thousands of viewers.
