Los Angeles always has a plethora of events going down at every corner. Whether it’s a convention or some improv, there’s always something to do if you’re looking to leave the house. We look at some of the best events going down in Los Angeles this week (October 5 - October 11).
Thursday, October 8
Mock The Trial @ UCB Theatre (5919 Franklin Ave.)
Doors: 6:50 p.m. (tickets)
A slew of L.A.'s finest improvisers will come together for an improvised court trial at UCB Theatre. The cast for Thursday's Mock The Trial show includes Jessica McKenna, Rekha Shankar, Payam Banifaz, Ryan Rosenberg, Chad Westbrook, Justin Patterson, Mark Stefanos, Gabriella Bottoni, Cassie Grilley, Anja Boltz, Jon Durnell, and Sonya Katarina.
Empire of the Sun @ Hollywood Bowl (2301 N Highland Ave.)
Doors: 6 p.m. (tickets)
Tickets are running low for Empire of the Sun's headlining show at Hollywood Bowl. The act will be promoting their latest studio album Ask That God. Polo & Pan and Midnight Generation will be the opening acts. A portion of each ticket will support the LA County Parks Foundation in restoring damage to parks from the recent Los Angeles wildfires.
Saturday, October 10
The Thrilling Adventure Hour presents: An Evening Beyond Belief @ Dynasty Typewriter (2511 Wilshire Blvd.)

The Thrilling Adventure Hour presents: An Evening Beyond Belief will take over Dynasty Typewriter for two shows on Saturday (show two starts at 9:30 p.m. with an 8:30 p.m. door time). Livestream tickets are available for both shows. The VOD will be live until Halloween (October 31) at midnight PST. Both shows will feature different scripts written by show creators Ben Acker & Ben Blacker.
Goth-o-Ween (Urban Heat, Dildox) @ Don Quixote (2811 E Olympic Blvd.)
Doors: 7 p.m. (tickets)
Goth-O-Ween will take over Don Quixote for a night of dark music and live performances. Headlined by Urban Heat, the show will also feature sets from acts such as Dancing Plague, Dildox, and Pink Light. DJs spinning music throughout the night include DJ HI-C, Hell Fairy, and Goth Tio.
Sunday, October 11
Flight Risk & Vogue @ The Pack Theater (1615 North Vermont Ave.)

Pack Theater sketch comedy teams Flight Risk and Vogue will join forces for a night of laughter. Flight Risk features John Backstrom, Kayla Caviedes, Andrew Colford, Julia Germeroth, Daria Grace, Tangila Lee, Nate Lawler, Meredith McClure, Jacob Nakshian, Lilian Tanner, John Potter, and Devyn Ward. Vogue includes Shea Depmore, Max Gieser, Joe Hirte, Emily Mae Kemp, Richard Lee, Sarah Lento, Jordy Martin, Matt Newcomb, Jessie Linn Obana, Victor Olivas, Clark Pavlik, and Eden Rousso.
