Los Angeles always has a plethora of events going down at every corner. Whether it’s a convention or some local stand-up comedy, there’s always something to do if you’re looking to leave the house. We look at some of the best events going down in Los Angeles this week (November 17 through November 23).
Tuesday, November 18
L.A. College Comedy Night @ UCB Theatre (5919 Franklin Ave.)
Doors: 8:15 p.m. (tickets)
Comedy teams from colleges in Los Angeles will join forces for a night of laughter at UCB Theatre. Teams slated for Tuesday's performance will be announced soon. Livestream tickets are also available.
Wednesday, November 19
Hellbent For Laughter @ Knucklehead Hollywood (6202 Santa Monica Blvd.)
Doors: 9 p.m. (free) 21+
Co-hosted by comedians Jake Bassi and Andrew Fahey, Hellbent For Laughter combines the love of comedy and metal in Hollywood. This week's show will feature comedy sets from Tiffany Corrada, Cal Matthews, Lala Kellems, Dakota James, and Jason Kaye. Pro BMX rider Rick Thorne will also deliver some comedy as this month's special guest. Plus, American Galactic will deliver a rocking musical performance. Stay for metal karaoke after the show! The 21+ event is free to the public. The lineup is subject to change.
Sketch Team Season Premiere Show @ Pack Theater (1615 North Vermont Ave.)
Doors: 8:45 p.m. (tickets)
Wednesday will deliver the season premiere of the Pack Theater's 2025-26 house teams & graduate teams. In 90 minutes, over 20 teams will take the stage for nonstop comedy. Some of the teams slated for this event include Darling, Speakeasy, Good Sandwich, and Dreamboat. There will also be videos from teams such as Vogue and Wiggle Room.
Thursday, November 20
L.A. vs Transplants @ Hollywood Improv (The Lab) (8162 Melrose Ave.)

A few tickets remain for L.A. vs Transplants at Hollywood Improv on Thursday. Co-hosted by The Bitter Critics' Kayla Hardy and Amber Easton, LA vs Transplants pits a team of comedians born in Los Angeles vs comedians born elsewhere for a friendly battle to see who really knows Los Angeles. Comedians appearing at the show are Chris Estrada, Aparna Nancherla, Jeremy Tinoco, Jazzy Byner, Lin Sun Compani, and Beto Urias.
Pack After Dark @ The Pack Theater (1615 North Vermont Ave.)

Co-hosted by Christian B. Schmidt and Jack Katz, Pack After Dark will deliver an hour of stand-up comedy, music, sketch comedy, and improv completely in the dark. The lineup for this show will be unveiled soon.
Friday, November 21
Asian AF LA 9th anniversary show @ UCB Theatre (5919 Franklin Ave.)

Asian AF LA will celebrate its ninth anniversary with a packed show at UCB Theatre this Friday. The event will feature improv from The Joy F--k Club, clowning from Kento Morita, and stand-up comedy from Alyce Chan and Mahesh Kotagi. Livestream tickets are also available.
F--k This Month/Holy S--t Improv @ The Elysian (1944 Riverside Dr.)

Improv groups F--K This Month and Holy S--t Improv will have their monthly collab show this Friday. The cast for F--k This Month this week features Jacob Wysocki, Angela Giarratana, Corin Wells, Brendan Scannell, Eli Gonzalez, Lauren Knutti, and Amanda Bonar. Holy S--t Improv's lineup will feature Arden Myrin, Tim Baltz, Lily Sullivan, Lauren Ashley Smith, Mike Castle, and Shaun Diston.
Saturday, November 22
Taylor Acorn, wilt @ The Echoplex (1154 Glendale Blvd.)

Taylor Acorn will head to The Echoplex in support of their sophomore studio album Poster Child, which is out on Fearless Records. The 12-track album includes the singles “Crashing Out”, “Hangman”, and “Goodbye, Good Riddance.” Wilt will be the opening act.
Meet The Music @ Red Velvet Studios (5239 Melrose Ave.)
Doors: 7 p.m. (tickets) 18+
Red Velvet Studios will host industry mixer/live music showcase Meet The Music this Saturday. Schedule performances that night include Daisy Close, Ksenia, Gemma Brooke Allen, Charles Devon, and Sparkle Glitch.
Thrice @ The Novo (800 W Olympic Blvd.)
Doors: 6:30 p.m. (tickets)
Thrice will take over The Novo in support of their new studio album Horizons/West, which is out on Epitaph. The 12-track album is a companion to the band's 2021 studio album Horizons/East. Modern Color and Downward will be the opening acts.
Sunday, November 23
C--k Sparrer @ Hollywood Palladium (6215 Sunset Blvd.)
Doors: 7 p.m. (tickets)
A handful of tickets are left for night two of C--K Sparrer's stint at Hollywood Palladium. This will be the iconic punk band's first time in Los Angeles in 25 years. Tickets for their Saturday performance sold out in under two hours. Dillinger Four, Home Front, and Generacion Suicida are the opening acts.

Based out of Los Angeles, the former rock concert promoter/radio host can be seen talking about rock music on AXS TV’s Music’s Greatest Mysteries and discussing music and whatever else on their Black Man Talks Rock channel on YouTube.
