Los Angeles always has a plethora of events going down at every corner. Whether it’s a convention or some improv, there’s always something to do if you’re looking to leave the house. We look at some of the best events going down in Los Angeles this week (June 29 through July 5).
Wednesday, July 1
Pack Theater Improv Showcase @ Pack Theater (1615 North Vermont Ave.)
Doors: 6:50 p.m. (tickets)
Pack Theater will bring all of its house teams together for a four-hour improv extravaganza. Attendees will see improv sets from house teams New Pope, Chef’s Kiss, Pleather, Beverly, Blood Pact, The Sitch, Dimes, Dogs Drink Free, Thirst Trap, Bucket, Chonk, and Casual Outfit.
Richard Perez presents: I Have To Do This @ Dynasty Typewriter (2511 Wilshire Blvd.)
Doors: 6 p.m. (tickets)
After shows in NYC and San Francisco, Richard Perez will conclude a three-night run promoting their I Have To Do This solo show at Dynasty Typewriter. The solo show revolves around all things love.
Thursday, July 2
Anime Expo 2026 @ L.A. Convention Center (1201 South Figueroa St.)
Doors: 9 a.m. (tickets)
A limited number of four-day and single day tickets for Anime Expo are still on sale. The four-day anime convention will feature a slew of guests, including Johnny Yong Bosch, Takashi Iizuka, and Xanthe Huynh.
Grin & Bear It / Women & Things @ UCB Theatre (5919 Franklin Ave.)
Doors: 6:50 p.m. (tickets)
Get two shows for the price of one with Grin & Bear It and Women & Things at UCB Theatre. Starring & created by Emily Nicole Hansen, Grin & Bear It had a sold-out run at Hollywood Fringe last year. Written and performed by Mimi von Schack, Women & Things had sold-out performances in Los Angeles, NYC, and Las Vegas. Livestream tickets are also available.
Sunday, July 5
Dreamboat, Room Service @ Pack Theater (1615 North Vermont Ave.)

Pack Theater house sketch teams Dreamboat and Room Service will join forces for 90-minutes of laughter. Ther cast for Dreamboat features Phil Binder, Niv Brook, Sara Brown, Florentino Carrillo, Jeannie Ceglar, Michelle Driscoll, Jessica Drolet, Connor Hurley, Diana Jannuzzi, Dominique Johnson, Briana Jones, Adrian Lara, and Michael Skarsten. The cast for Room Service includes Mads Benn, Nick Grimes, Max Kliman, Jasmine Kojouri, Andrea Lewis, Kelli Massey, Megan McKenzie, Jack Olstad, Rocco Polanco, JD Ramage, Aziza Stewart, Salil Subbakrishna, and Samantha Turret.
Since 2009, MP3s and NPCs owner Terrance Pryor has written about music, conventions, cosplay, and video games for publications such as AXS, Examiner, Fake Walls, and Ranker. Based out of Los Angeles, the former rock concert promoter/radio host can be seen talking about rock music on AXS TV’s Music’s Greatest Mysteries and discussing music and whatever else on their Black Man Talks Rock channel on YouTube.
