Los Angeles always has a plethora of events going down at every corner. Whether it’s a convention or some improv, there’s always something to do if you’re looking to leave the house. We look at some of the best events going down in Los Angeles this week (May 4 through May 10).

Tuesday, July 7

Black Myth: Wukong Global Concert @ Peacock Theater (777 Chick Hearn Court)
Doors: 6 p.m. (tickets)

Tickets are still available for the Black Myth: Wukong Global Concert taking place at Peacock Theater. The concert mixes orchestral music with Chinese folk music to give attendees a grand live interpretation of music from Black Myth: Wukong. Released in 2024, the game earned wins for Best Action Game and Player's Choice at The Game Awards. A sequel titled Black Myth: Zhong Kui is currently in development.

Wednesday, July 8

Rollin' With My Homies @ UCB Theatre (5919 Franklin Ave.)
Doors: 6:50 p.m. (tickets)

Hosted by Nolan Purvis, Rollin’ With My Homies features improvisers tackling scenes while in wheelchairs. The cast for Wednesday's show features Carl Tart, Genetra Tull, Craig Cackowski, Rebecca Drysdale, and Claudio Saavedra along with special guest Nicole Cyrille. Thursday, July 9

Tom Waits War Songs @ Dynasty Typewriter (2511 Wilshire Blvd.)

Tom Waits War Songs will bring together a slew of Tom Waits songs for an astonishing live performance mixing live music and animation. Livestream tickets are also available.

Friday, July 10

High Fade, Turning Jane @ Teragram Ballroom (1234 W 7th St.)
Doors: 7 p.m. (tickets)

U.K. alternative rock band High Fade will headline Teragram Ballroom on their North American tour. The band will be promoting their new album Twice As Nice, which was released back in May. Los Angeles rock band Turning Jane will open the show.

Tranquility @ Outside In Theatre (5317 York Blvd.)
Doors: 7:15 p.m. (tickets)

Tranquility is an improvised space Western featuring a cast of femme/non binary talent. Directed by Emily Louise Kugel, this improvised show is perfect for fans of shows such as Firefly and The Mandalorian. The cast for Tranquility features Gabi Marler, June Neely, Natalie Lall, Monica Alquetz, Rachel McDowell, Elena Afanasiev, Keiko Agena, and Alison Inconstanti.

Saturday, July 11

MahouCha Café presents Spill The Tea @ Geeky Teas & Games (900 W Alameda Ave.)
Doors: 1:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. (tickets)

So-Cal magical tea maid & butler café MahouCha Café will take over Geeky Teas & Games in Burbank for two special pride celebration events. The early show (2 p.m. start time) is all ages while the evening show (6 p.m. start time) is 18+. Aside from tickets to the shows, attendees can also purchase special merch, food, and drinks.

Since 2009, MP3s and NPCs owner Terrance Pryor has written about music, conventions, cosplay, and video games for publications such as AXS, Examiner, Fake Walls, and Ranker. Based out of Los Angeles, the former rock concert promoter/radio host can be seen talking about rock music on AXS TV’s Music’s Greatest Mysteries and discussing music and whatever else on their Black Man Talks Rock channel on YouTube.
