Los Angeles always has a plethora of events going down at every corner. Whether it’s a convention or some local stand-up comedy, there’s always something to do if you’re looking to leave the house. We look at some of the best events going down in Los Angeles this week (December 8 through December 14).

Tuesday, December 9

Dying Wish @ Regent Theater (448 S Main St.)
Doors: 5:30 p.m. (tickets)

A select number of tickets are left for Dying Wish’s headlining performance at Regent Theater. The rising metalcore band will be promoting their new studio album Flesh Stays Together. Static Dress, Gouge Away, Orthodox, and Boltcutter will join the band as support.

Wednesday, December 10

Lady Radiator @ Moroccan Lounge (901 E 1st St.)
Doors: 6:30 p.m. (tickets)

New Jersey post-hardcore band Lady Radiator will headline Moroccan Lounge, and tickets for their performance are going fast. The band reunited after their song “Box Turtle Magnificent Isn’t She” went viral on TikTok. Lady Radiator are currently working on the follow-up to their 2007 studio album Bounce Energy Hear Me Out. Thomas Erak & the Ouroboros will be the opening act for the show.

Contraband, Prenup, and Picture Day @ The Pack Theater (1615 North Vermont Ave.)

Three Pack Theater sketch comedy teams will join forces for a special triple-headliner show on Wednesday. Tickets to see all three teams run their debut performances are running low. The cast for Picture Day features Josie Anders, Sydney Burgess, Arlo Cahn, Jonah Desneux, Walker Dixon, Ogadimma Ebele, Elizabeth Goldmane, Bruce Gregg, Grace Guerre, Raven Henry, Soph Sawyer, Maddie Smith, and Callahan Teceno. The cast for Contraband features Jackson Adams, Quinn Avallon, Winnie Code, Tiera Hollanqquest, Christian Holt, Job Kimani, Constance Jiang, Danna Kiel, Teague LaBrosse, Olivia Oreskovich, Sean Pubins, Tatjana Vujovic, and Eric Wiig. The cast for Prenup features Mike Bedard, Ben Cohen, Samantha Dilsheimer, Rusty Felbob, Jessie Guthrie, Loring Griggs, Kianna Kyn, Kara O’Connor, Genah Redding, Dan Sonenberg, Davan Schoelen, Ben Shiff, and Mikayla Townsend.

Friday, December 12

NAW or Never @ The Elysian (1944 Riverside Dr.)

NAW or Never will feature a slew of performers cutting promos within 60 seconds to prove themselves worthy to be on the Nearly Average Wrestling roster. Friday's show will feature special guests such as Shane Haste (NJPW), Ron Funches, and Dylan Adler. Previous episodes of NAW or Never can be seen here.

Saturday, December 13

Best of ASSSSKETCH @ UCB Theatre (5919 Franklin Ave.)

Beloved UCB sketch comedy show ASSSSKETCH will showcase some of its best sketches of 2025 this Saturday. Performers slated to appear are Kylie Brakeman, Rasheda Crockett, Kale Hills, Kyle Kasabian, Patrick McDonald, Carolina Montenegro, Greg Santos, Marc-Sully Saint-Fleur, Calvin Seabrooks, Max Sonsa-Spear, Chad Westbrook, and Monique Moses. Undiscovered Genius @ Hollywood Improv (The Lab) (8162 Melrose Ave.)

Josh Edelman's Undiscovered Genius will bring together some of Los Angeles' brightest comedians for a special holiday show at Hollywood Improv (The Lab). Scheduled comedians for Saturday's show are Kazeem Rahman, Scott Manke, Ian Michael, Billy Myers III, Nick Duvrvasula, Faith Ladzinski, Jasmine Ellis, and Andy Van.

Sunday, December 14

Animarketplace @ Japanese American Cultural & Community Center (Outside) (244 San Pedro St.)

Animarketplace will bring anime fans to Little Tokyo for their annual one-day pop-up event outside of the Japanese American Cultural & Community Center. Scheduled performers at the event include Hamu Cotton, Lucky Lucky Alice, and Reign Maid Café. Attendees can also check out some cool items from various vendors. Tickets for this occasion are only $5!

Thirsty for the Limelight @ UCB Theatre (5919 Franklin Ave.)

If you're into a musical comedy featuring puppets, head to UCB Theatre for Thirsty for the Limelight. While puppets are being featured, this performance isn't for kids. The show follows a washed-up cabaret star named Esmerelda, who is trying to gain a resurgence in popularity. The cast for this show features David Roston as Esmerelda the Puppet, Cory Jones as Shmiza Shminnelli, Hannah Shaka as Anne Ziety, Chef LeBoeuf, Tickles, and Fruit Vendor, Seth “Hobbes” Origitano as Galumbos T. Ninnyhammer, and Tess, and Matt Villanueva as Sexy Sound Guy.

Beverly, Chonk @ The Pack Theater (1615 North Vermont Ave.)

Pack Theater house improv teams Beverly and Chonk will bring audience suggestions to life in an hour-long laughfest. The cast for Beverly features Katie Johantgen, Evan Harris, Meggie McKinnon, Lily Holleman, Lena Lamer, Peter Pasco, Abby Blanchard, Gabi Marler, and Jade Lacy. The cast for Chonk includes Koschka Bahr, David Danipour, John Dardenne, Richard Feliciano, Emily Jacob, Jocelyn Johnson, Faith Nagel, David Neale, and Patrick Shen.
