Los Angeles always has a plethora of events going down at every corner. Whether it’s a convention or some local stand-up comedy, there’s always something to do if you’re looking to leave the house. We look at some of the best events going down in Los Angeles this week (April 8 through April 14).
Monday, April 8
Flotsam and Jetsam @ 1720 (1720 E. 16th St.)
Doors: 6 p.m. (tickets)
Phoenix thrash metal band Flotsam and Jetsam will head to 1720 in support of their latest studio album Blood in the Water. Joining the band as support at the show are Sacred Origin, Violent By Nature, and Diabology.
Thursday, April 11
Lita Ford @ Whisky A Go-Go (8901 W Sunset Blvd.)
Doors: 6 p.m. (tickets)
Influential guitarist Lita Ford will have a special headlining performance at Whisky A Go-Go on Thursday. Ford's last studio album was 2016's Time Capsule, which features songs discovered on analog tapes from the 80s. Joining Ford as support are Rawnsley, Prima Donna Rising, Emma Zeck, Villa Nova, and Alyssad.
Friday, April 12
Baby Wants Candy @ UCB Theatre (5919 Franklin Ave.)
Doors: 6:45 p.m. (tickets)
Touring improv musical group Baby Wants Candy heads to UCB Theatre for the opening night (and closing night) of a brand new improvised musical, which will be decided with a suggestion from the audience. If you can’t be there in person, livestream tickets will also be available. The livestream will be available for seven days after the show.
Saturday, April 13
Bearology x Naruto Launch Party @ Bearology Temple City (5805 Rosemead Blvd.)
Doors: 12 p.m. (free tickets)
Bearology Hollywood will have a special launch party for their Naruto collection. The first 100 guests will get a free drink in their Naruto flasks while everyone will be able to take part in the "buy one get one" drink special. There will also be a Nintendo Switch giveaway and a special gift for those cosplaying as their favorite Naruto character.
Kate Clover @ The Echo (1822 W Sunset Blvd.)
Doors: 7 p.m. (tickets)
Los Angeles punk artist Kate Clover will bring their current headlining tour to The Echo. The artist will be supporting their new album Apocalypse Dream, which was released last week via SVR. Memo PST and Ingrates will be the opening acts.
Pop Cultured with Jimmy Pardo @ UCB Theatre (5919 Franklin Ave.)
Doors: 6:45 p.m. (tickets) 18+
Pop Cultured with Jimmy Pardo will bring three comedians together to test their pop culture knowledge. Saturday’s show will feature Bobby Moynihan, Ashleigh Hairston, and Wayne Federman. If you can’t be there in person, livestream tickets will also be available. The livestream will be available for seven days after the show.
Sunday, April 14
VR Sex, Marbled Eye @ Teragram Ballroom (1234 W. 7th St.)

VR Sex and Marbled Eye both released new albums, so it's only right for them to have combined record release shows inside Teragram Ballroom. VR Sex released Hard Copy on Dais Records while Marbled Eye unveiled Read the Air via Summer Shade/Digital Regress. Tube Alloys will also perform.
