Stabbing Westward sign to COP International, releasing new album 'Wasteland'
Industrial rockers Stabbing Westward have announced plans to unveil their first studio album in 20 years.
The group have revealed their signing to Oakland, California-based record label COP International for their new studio album Wasteland. This release will find the group reuniting with producer John Fryer, who worked with the band on Ungod and Wither Blister Burn + Peel. “I was so excited to have the opportunity to go back to the very roots of Stabbing Westward by working with John again,” Stabbing Westward frontman Christopher Hall said in a statement. “John really helped us develop our sound on our first album and then helped us take a huge leap forward with our second album. Even though this is our fifth full length, after such a long break it feels like a new beginning and it's very cool to have John at the helm once again.”
A single from the album will be unveiled before the year is over. Back in January, Stabbing Westward unveiled their Dead and Gone EP, which was their first release of new music since their 2001 self-titled studio album.
