Cyberpunk 2077 pushed back to September 17, 2020

Cyberpunk 2077 was slated to be released on April 16, but CD Projekt Red needs more time.

Today, the company revealed the game will now be released on September 17, 2020. In a joint statement, CD Projekt Red co-founder Marcin Iwinski and head of studio Adam Badowski said, "We are currently at a stage where the game is complete and playable, but there's still work to be done. Night City is massive - full of stories, content and places to visit, but due to the sheer scale and complexity of it all, we need more time to finish playtesting, fixing and polishing. "We want Cyberpunk 2077 to be our crowning achievement for this generation and postponing launch will give us the precious months we need to make the game perfect.”

This follows the delays of Final Fantasy 7 remake and Marvel’s Avengers earlier this week. Pre-orders for Cyberpunk 2077 can be made here.

Refused unveil "Never Fade Away" from Cyberpunk 2077

Refused have unveiled another song from the forthcoming Cyberpunk 2077 game today. The song “Never Fade Away” can be streamed below.

The band, who performs under the name Samurai in the game, knew being in this game was a big opportunity. “When CD Projekt Red approached us about writing music for Cyberpunk 2077, we jumped at the chance. Partly because of the challenge: to write music for a fictional band that was similar to Refused, but quite different at the same time, having the music and lyrics be shaped and determined by the feel, tone and plot of an outside narrative,” the band stated. Cyberpunk 2077 will be released on April 16, 2020 via PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, and Google Stadia.

On October 18, Refused will release their new album War Music, which can be pre-ordered here. The band will embark on a co-headlining tour with Thrice in October/November. In December, Refused will perform a slew of headlining shows through Europe.
