Just in time for Christmas, some new information about the forthcoming SANDA anime series has been unveiled today.

The anime is slated for a Fall 2025 release. A new teaser trailer for the anime can be seen here. Aside from the fall release, it was also revealed that Ayumu Murase (Haikyu!!, D.Gray-man Hallow) will play the role of Kazushige Sanda and Hiroki Tochi (Mobile Suit Gundam 00, Fairy Tail) will lend their voice to Santa Claus. The SANDA anime is being produced by Science Saru, who is best known for their work on Inu-Oh, DAN DA DAN, and Star Wars: Visions.

SANDA is an anime adaptation of Paru Itagaki’s manga of the same name featured in Weekly Shōnen Champion. A synopsis for SANDA reads:

The story takes place in the future, where the birth rate in Japan has been rapidly declining. The main character, Sanda Kazushige, is found to be the descendant of Santa Claus by his classmate, Shiori Fuyumura. Together, they attempt to find Fuyumura's missing classmate, Ono Ichie.
