Roguelike deckbuilder TOKENS announced at the 2026 Pégases ceremony

A new roguelike deckbuilder was revealed at the 2026 Pégases ceremony tonight.
TOKENS is a new title from Atelier QBD, which is a French video game studio led by veteran video game designer Quentin De Beukelaer (Assassin’s Creed III, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag). An announcement trailer can be seen here. The game is slated to arrive later this year on PC (via Steam).
A synopsis for TOKENS reads:
In this roguelike deckbuilder, players are immersed in a fantasy universe inspired by the prestigious clubs of the roaring twenties, including the mysterious Token Club, a secret circle reserved for exceptional artists and adventurers. Players take on the role of a determined aspirant seeking to prove their worth and gain entry into this coveted club. To succeed, they must demonstrate strategic skill by building a deck of Tokens enhanced with the powers of Arcanas (special abilities) and Effigies (items), and overcome the challenges orchestrated by the enigmatic dealer, Mister Mirage.
Each run offers a new configuration of challenges and opportunities. To advance to the next round, players must line up tokens on the table to beat the required score. Every three rounds, they will face a boss encounter that will test their skills and push them to adapt their strategy.
De Beukelaer said this about TOKENS:
“After creating two narrative horror games, Narcosis and Decarnation, I wanted to place gameplay at the heart of the project. As a fan of roguelike deckbuilders I aim to bend the rules and use tokens instead of cards. It’s an ideal starting point to explore the concept of randomness and how players can manipulate it to carve their path within the Token Club.”
TOKENS can be wishlisted on Steam right now here. A new Steam demo has dropped alongside the game’s announcement.
