Revenge Wife (solo project of HOLYCHILD's Liz Nistico) will deliver their debut album next month.
Revealed yesterday, Alien Witch will be released on September 30. The 12-track album was mostly produced by Nistico. The lead single (and opening track) from the record titled “What If It *Is* Me?!” launches with a music video directed by Nistico and shot by cinematographer Carlos Cabrera-Mayol, which can be seen below. The artist said this about the song and its accompanying visual:
“To me, this song is Dave Matthews with the windows down, running through a field of sunflowers. This song is so playful, like, what if it all works out? What if I’m exactly who I think? What if it IS me?! I wrote this song during Covid on my ukulele (‘back when the bars were open’). It feels like everything is possible, I could be anyone or anything, I just haven’t made the leap yet.
This video is the essence of the album. Feminine rock in the woods near my house. Since this song is in Leo, I thought it’s so Leo to have this video be the culmination of the entire album, representing all the signs in their elements, Earth, Air, Fire, Water. I’ve finally figured out a way to incorporate my drawings and I also think this is my favorite thing I’ve ever edited.”
Revenge Wife will preview some new material at Echo Park Rising later this month in Los Angeles. In October, the artist will head to NYC for a special performance at Nightclub 101. Tour dates can be seen below. Tickets for the NYC show are on sale to the general public right now here.
