One Piece anime to go on hiatus until 2025; new One Piece content announced

Popular anime series One Piece will be taking a break after Episode 1122.

Revealed today, the show will go on hiatus until spring 2025. A new time slot will be revealed at Jump Fiesta, which takes place on Sunday, December 22.

While fans have to wait a while, new One Piece content will be unveiled this month. Next Sunday (October 20 at 9:30 am JST), One Piece Fan Letter will be delivered. A synopsis for the program reads:

This 30-minute ensemble drama depicts the reunion of the Straw Hats crew from the perspective of non-pirate characters. Set in the Sabaody Archipelago after the Paramount War, the story follows its protagonist, a young girl and admirer of Nami, as she sets off on a small adventure.

Starting on Sunday, October 27 at 9:30 am JST, fans will be greeted to One Piece Log: Fish-Man Island Saga. The show is a re-edited version of the original Fish-Man Island arc aired between 2011 and 2012. The 21-episode series featured all scenes being reshot alongside new animation sequences. New themes have been recorded for One Piece Log: Fish-Man Island Saga; the new opening theme, “We Go!” is sung by Kitadani Hiroshi with special guests while the new ending theme is “Sailing” (Episodic version) sung by BE:FIRST. The final episode airs on Sunday, March 30 at 9:30 am JST.

A synopsis for One Piece Log: Fish-Man Island Saga reads:

The Straw Hats reunite at Sabaody! The promised day has arrived. The Straw Hats have made it back to Sabaody Archipelago after two arduous years of separation. In the very same place where they once lost to Pacifista, the Straw Hats have proven themselves to be stronger and ready to begin their journey to the New World. With the Thousand Sunny now equipped to travel underwater, the next stop is the Fish-Man Island. “One Piece Log: Fish-Man Island Saga” is a special edited version of the original arc from “One Piece” in an abridged 21-episode story with an enhanced contemporary visual look.
