New manga app emaqi has launched in North America

A new manga app has made its way to North American readers.

Released yesterday, Orange Inc.’s new app emaqi will allow audiences to read through 13,000 volumes of manga from 1,700 series with 50 exclusive titles making its way to the app. Anjo the Mischievous Gal, The Vampire Dies in No Time, and Liverleaf are among the exclusive titles available on emaqi right now.

Shoko Ugaki, CEO & Founder of Orange said this about making the app:

“I started this company because I wanted fans around the world to have the same opportunity to enjoy manga culture as we do in Japan. More than 95% of manga published in Japan have never been released in English. We aim to change that by exposing more incredible manga works to overseas audiences.”

From now until July 8 at 11:59 PM (EDT), emaqi is offering a handful of special offers. Readers can read up to three volumes of VIZ’s 10 most-popular manga series for free. emaqi-exclusive translated titles will be available with a “Wait Until Free” model, which means one chapter will be unlocked every 23 hours for free. Readers will also be eligible for a 50% coin-back on purchases (up to 25,000 coins per user).

emaqi ia available on iOS and Android right now.
