Moontype sign to Orindal Records, release new single "Long Country"

Chicago indie rock band Moontype have announced their signing to Orindal Records today.

Their first piece of music for the record label (and their first release since their 2021 debut album Bodies of Water) titled “Long Country” comes with a music video directed by Ian Kelly, which can be seen here. The single, which is out on digital services right now, was co-produced by Katie von Schleicher & Nate Mendelsohn.

Vocalist/bassist Margaret McCarthy said this about the new song:

"I wrote Long Country during the early pandemic but it’s a feeling I’ve had many times, feeling trapped in who and where I am. I want to escape, drive far away, but wherever you go there you are. Sometimes it feels impossible to change the emotional patterns you’ve built for yourself. This is the only song where all four of us sing at the same time, and that’s always a special moment."

Moontype have also announced a headlining tour along the Northeast in March. Tour dates can be seen below. Tickets are on sale to the general public right now here.
