Metaphor: ReFantazio collab with Round1 announced

While fans in Los Angeles got to celebrate the 1-year anniversary of Metaphor: ReFantazio in Round1, fans elsewhere wondered when they would get a chance to join the festivities. Fortunately, Atlus West is teaming up with the popular bowling and arcade chain to continue the celebration into the new year.

Revealed yesterday, select Round1 locations across the United States will deliver some limited-edition Metaphor: ReFantazio items. From November 17 through February 8, attendees will be able to purchase items such as keychains, a collector’s cup, and towels. A full list of items can be found here. During the celebration livestream, which can be seen here, Atlus West also revealed the digital Metaphor: ReFantazio Guidebook Edition, which includes a digital strategy guide along with the base game and more. This release will be available early next year.

Released last October, Metaphor: ReFantazio sold one million copies within 24 hours of release and gained three awards at The Game Awards, including Best Role-Playing Game. A synopsis for the game reads:

This is a story of how people must find unity to elect a new king.

Our story takes place in The United Kingdom of Euchronia, where the assassination of the king brings chaos and unrest to the land. Then, one fateful day, a magic known only to the king called the Royal Magic is invoked, and the world becomes embroiled in a royal tournament for the throne.

In the midst of this, the protagonist, together with his partner, the fairy Galica, must find a way to break the curse that has been placed on the prince that the kingdom believes to be dead. To do so, they depart on a journey across the vast land.

They will discover that in order to achieve their goal, they must participate in the tournament for the throne, and this great task shall require them to ally with many friends and followers of the various tribes inhabiting the world.
