Lucinda Williams' Lu’s Jukebox arriving on October 29
Lucinda Williams will debut the first episode of Lu’s Jukebox on October 29. The first episode was originally slated for an October 22 release.
Lu’s Jukebox will help out independent venues in North America and Europe through live performances. The first episode titled Running Down A Dream: A Tribute To Tom Petty will include covers of Petty’s most beloved songs. Future episodes (November 12th and 19th, December 3rd, 17th, and 31st) will be based around different themes. Williams had this to say about Lu’s Jukebox:
“We’ve actually wanted to do a cover series for a long time now, but never had the time with my touring schedule. I guess the silver lining in all of this has been to be able to really get inside the songs of some of my favorite artists – see what makes them tick. My hope for this project is that we’ll be able to help as many venues as we can. They’re our homes, as artists. We have to take care of them, for the sake of live music to come.”
You can check out the entire schedule and list of participating venues below. Tickets for Lu’s Jukebox can be purchased here. All shows will begin on 8 p.m. EST/5 p.m. PST.
Williams released their latest album Good Souls Better Angels back in April.
