Los Angeles post-rock group Gypsum have announced their self-titled debut album.

Announced today, the 10-track album will be released on October 12 via Sonic Ritual. The record was tracked with engineer Mark Rains (Tanya Tucker, Alice Bag) during a two-week recording session at Station House Studio. The first single (and opening track) from the record titled “Follow Me” is available on digital services right now.

Vocalist Sapphire Jewell said this about the cut:

“It’s not about any one movement but rather the constant stream of innocent people who’ve chosen between starting a new life elsewhere or risking their lives to stay. It’s sort of a privilege check and that security isn’t permanent.”

On October 13, Gypsum will hold a record release show at Zebulon with special guests Potty Mouth and Xin Xin. Tickets can be purchased here.
