Keanu Reeves will be plucking the bass again this year with their reunited grunge band Dogstar.

In an Instagram post, the band announced plans to release a new studio album and perform some shows later this year. Last year, the band worked on new music with producer Dave Trumfio, who is best known for their work with Wilco, OK Go, and E for Explosion.

In a statement, the band said:

“We will be rolling out some new music this summer, followed by some gigs. As soon as it’s all figured out we will let everyone know immediately. So much to do, but rest assured, we are on it and have assembled a fantastic team that are helping us. We are also going to make a music video to support our first tune. That’s all I can say now. Can’t wait to share our new music with everyone. It’s the most satisfying and meaningful batch of songs we’ve ever done.”

Forming in 1991, Dogstar released two studio albums (1996’s Our Little Visionary and 2000’s Happy Ending) before disbanding after a performance in Japan in October 2002. The band shared the stage with acts such as David Bowie, Bon Jovi, and Weezer, whose first show was performing with Dogstar.
