Jeremiah Chiu and Marta Sofia Honer will deliver their new collaboration album this June.

Revealed today, Different Rooms will be released on June 20 via International Anthem. The 10-track album is the proper follow-up to their 2022 collaboration release Recordings from the Åland Islands. A new single (and opening track) from the album titled “Mean Solar Time” can be heard here. Pre-orders for Different Rooms can be made here.

Chiu and Honer said this about working on the new album:

“This record marks an evolution in our approach to studio production. Our studios are side-by-side. When we were writing this album, you might have found us tracking viola stacks in one studio while, in the other, we were writing through-composed themes and rearranging the material. Granular synthesis and tape manipulation are key tools we use to create variation and movement in a composition. This process often yields surprising results, capturing the emotion but expressing it in unexpected ways. It feels essential that we embrace a bit of chance.”

Chiu and Honer will promote the album with shows in Los Angeles, NYC, and Philadelphia. Tour dates can be seen below. Tickets for the Philadelphia show are on sale to the general public right now. The Los Angeles and NYC shows will be free to the public.
