Japanese pop artist Gen Hoshino (Spy x Family) to perform in Fortnite on June 9

Japanese pop artist Gen Hoshino will hold one of their biggest performances ever as part of Fortnite’s Soundwave Series.
Announced yesterday, the artist will hold their performance on Thursday, June 9 starting at 11 a.m. EST/8 a.m. PST. The performance will air on repeat for 72 hours following its initial airing. Players who stick around for the set will gain XP and earn a special Gen Hoshino spray.
Since the release of their 2010 debut album Baka no Uta, Hoshino has become a dynamite force in music and acting. Their work in Why Don’t You Play In Hell? earned them Newcomer of the Year wins at the Japan Academy Film Prize and Tama Cinema Awards. The artist also earned five CD Shop Awards, seven wins at the MTV Video Music Awards Japan, and four Japan Gold Disc Awards.
Hoshino’s song "Comedy" is currently used in the Spy × Family anime series. Their last studio album was 2018’s Pop Virus.
