Irish post-punk band Chalk release "Bliss" music video (playing SXSW this year)
Irish post-punk band Chalk delivered the music video for their single “Bliss” yesterday.
The music video, which can be seen below, was directed by guitarist Benedict Goddard. “Bliss” stems from Chalk’s upcoming Conditions II EP, which will be released this Friday (March 1) on Nice Swan Recordings. Vocalist Ross Cullen said this about the forthcoming release, which can be pre-ordered here:
“We see Conditions II as a natural evolution from our debut EP, Conditions. These new tracks are a product of our first year as a touring band. They were tried and tested at most of our shows before being taken into the studio. We wanted to expand upon existing themes and ideas we touched upon in our debut, but with this continuation, we could explore ourselves and the world we had created deeper, both lyrically and sonically. In this second installment, we wanted to dive further into the electronic element of our music, bringing the experience of our live shows to our recordings.”
Chalk will have their U.S. debut at SXSW next month with a pair of shows. Their forthcoming shows can be seen below.
