Illenium teams up with Z2 Comics for new graphic novel ILLENIUM: Presents Starfall

Grammy-nominated producer Illenium is diving into the world of comic books.

Announced today, the artist has teamed up with Z2 Comics for the release of their graphic novel ILLENIUM: Presents Starfall, which will arrive on November 21. For this release, Illenium worked with writer Frank Marraffino (Marvel Zombies, Dee Snider: He’s Not Gonna Take It), artists Pablo Andrés and Luis Expósito Hernández, and cover artist Emilio Adrias.

Illenium said this about the forthcoming release:

“The chance to bring my origin story to life in graphic novel form has always been a dream of mine. This will be unlike anything anyone has ever seen from me before.”

Z2 VP of Marketing Steve Ettinger also said:

“At Z2, we’re constantly looking for partners to tell enthralling stories where music and comics collide, and ILLENIUM is the perfect collaborator. Whether through his intoxicating live shows or engrossing albums, ILLENIUM is a master entertainer and we’re overjoyed to explore a new avenue to delight his fans.”

A synopsis for the graphic novel reads:

In a cold totalitarian society where only the fittest survive, Nick has embraced a new world order of violence and brutality, blindly following his overseers’ wishes no matter how much blood stains his hands. To meet these vicious ends, Nick relies on an addictive Substance—a potent elixir that his malignant overlord rations out to the loyally subservient.

But a mysterious woman named Ash soon challenges his worldview, unlocking a potential of harmony rooted in a winding mythology of phoenixes and fire. To transcend the dystopia he helped create, Nick will have to battle demons of addictions and unearth the secrets of ILLENIUM.

Pre-orders for ILLENIUM: Presents Starfall can be made here. Illenium has a slew of performances coming up, including two performances at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium in February. Tickets and tour dates can be found here. The artist is supporting their latest self-titled studio album, which is their third consecutive album to top the Dance/Electronic Albums chart.
