Honeyglaze release new single "Female Lead"
Indie rock band Honeyglaze have unveiled their new single “Female Lead.”
For its accompanying music video, which can be seen below, the band teamed up with director James Ogram. Vocalist Anouska Sokolow also worked on the video, which features Jojo Macari from Netflix's Sex Education. Sokolow said this about the new song:
"I was overwhelmed by the state of the world during the first lockdown and constantly being surrounded by bad news. It was a time when people were playing with changing their appearance and I felt incapable of writing anything of any actual importance so I decided to write about something as completely arbitrary as dying my hair. I was inspired by the song ‘Leader of the Pack’ by the Shangri-las and the narrative heavy pop songs that were coming out of the Brill building during the 60s."
“Female Lead” stems from Honeyglaze’s forthcoming self-titled debut album, which will be released on April 29 via Speedy Wunderground. Pre-orders for the album can be made here. “Female Lead” is on digital services right now.
Honeyglaze will promote the album with a support slot on Dog Leg’s sold-out U.K. tour in April. In May, the band will have a slew of headlining gigs sandwiched between festival appearances. Their entire tour routing can be seen below. Tickets for their shows are on sale to the general public right now.
