Grand Theft Auto V is free on the Epic Games Store

2013’s Grand Theft Auto V can be yours for free thanks to the Epic Games Store.

Announced today, the game will be available for free until May 21 at 8 a.m. PST. Owners will obtain the Premium Edition, which includes GTA Online, various upgrades, and the Criminal Enterprise Starter Park. As expected, the site has been down because everyone is trying to grab a copy of the game. “We are aware that users may be encountering slow loading times, 500 errors, or launcher crashing at this time and we are actively working to scale. We'll provide an update as soon as we can,” the company tweeted.

Grand Theft Auto V broke records by earning $800 million within 24 hours of release. Within three days, the game made over $1 billion. By the end of 2019, the game shipped over 120 million copies around the world.
