G.I. Joe: Wrath of Cobra gets September 26 release date on Steam
Beat ‘em up game G.I. Joe: Wrath of Cobra will arrive next week.
Announced yesterday, the game will be released on September 16 on PC (va Steam). The game is slated to also be released on Nintendo Switch, Xbox, PlayStation, Epic Games Store, and GOG soon. A release date trailer can be seen here.
Revealed last year, G.I. Joe: Wrath of Cobra brings the beloved GI Joe franchise to life in an action-packed adventure to take down villains such as Cobra Commander and Storm Shadow. The game’s soundtrack was a collaboration between composer Tee Lopes (Sonic Mania, TMNT Shredder’s Revenge, Streets of Rage 4 - Mr. X Nightmare DLC) and Crush 40’s lead vocalist Johnny Gioeli (Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020). Free content updates such as online multiplayer, additional characters, and modes will be released post-launch.
Kerry Vandenberg, co-founder of game developer Maple Powered Games said this about the game:
“G.I. JOE: WRATH OF COBRA is made by a team of superfans who worked tirelessly to authentically pay homage to one of the greatest series of all time. Each element, from the art to the cutscenes, to the music, has been inspired by the classic line of action figures and the Real American Hero versions of the iconic franchise. Our team plans to keep supporting the game post-launch with a selection of free content and additions. With a franchise as massive as this the sky's the limit.”
